Land Adventures is much more than a simple Operator. Since 2007 we closely work with the Elohim School of Arequipa. This school, situated at 30 minutes bus from the centre, looks after disadvantaged children of the town. Each year we welcome many volunteers willing to lend their support to the establishment. During their stay, the volunteers can make different activities, such as helping cook, washing the clothes or teaching the children English. The children are always well motivated and keen on learning this touristy language. The volunteers also organise games and workshops with the children.
Like in any volunteer programme, the problem resides in the financial means. Elohim is constantly in search for money in order to expand and be able to provide the children with material. Recently, the children expressed their talents of artists by carrying out various original drawings that were realized in the form of postcards. These drawings show the volunteers, friends, or daily life scenes. In order to raise funds and help the children, these postcards are on sale at the school as well as at our agency for S/.1. The receipts directly go to the school. It is an original way to let your family know about your holidays and to help children in need at the same time.
